OpenSI was founded as a partnership between the University of Canberra and Instaclustr to support the open source community across Australia. They provide training, certification, and industry news for students, developers, and other open source enthusiasts.
The project
Caffeine Powered developed a bespoke WordPress theme capable of handling complex features. The site needed to integrate with their membership platform, showcase upcoming courses, highlight open source projects, and enable course payments. The design emphasised usability and accessibility, ensuring the platform could support a growing community of learners and maintainers.
The outcome
The new OpenSI website has become the central hub for the Australian open source community. It successfully manages memberships, course registrations, and community engagement in one streamlined platform. The directors report that the site meets operational needs while also providing an accessible, user-friendly experience for their students and members.
