Open Source Institute (or OpenSI, for short) started out as a partnership between the University of Canberra and Instaclustr to promote the open source community. It operates across Australia offering training, certification and industry news to members of the open source community.
From its inception, OpenSI’s directors recognised the need for a quality front-end for its services. Caffeine Powered was approached to create a bespoke WordPress theme with a variety of additional features. The website needed to be able to handle their membership platform, the database of upcoming courses, a showcase of open source projects, and allow users to make course payments on the site.
Following launch, the website manages these requirements and serves as the hub for a growing body of students in the open source community.
